That depends on the application. If the vehicle is All-Wheel Drive like a Subaru then no, you have to replace all four tires
alignment can be required if you have knocked the wheel on a kerb or somethin, cause then they wear on one side and you end up paying for a new one, if the handling is ok and the wear is even then you dont need to get it done, certainly not required as a part of an ordinary service: )
Should throw the speedometer off a little. A little quicker acceleration, and a little less top speed. I don’t think it will be a big difference either way.good luck.
You raise an age old question one that I’ve looked into hundreds of times. The easiest way to determine tire run-out is to put the car on jack-stands and turn on the ignition in low gear. With a white china marker or white chalk and a piece of 2×4 to guide the chalk or marker observe the tread as it slowly spins. In my book if a tread runs out more than .090 the only wheel / tire balancer that is able to correct the problem is a Hunter GSP 9700 Force Wheel Balancer. Go to Hunter wheel balancers and check this machine out. There’s a box to fill in your zip code to find shops in your area who have these machines. It’s by far the most complete system on the market. It senses bent wheels and out of spec. tires before the actual balancing takes place. A force wheel exerts 1,400 lbs on the tire as it spins to re-produce road spinning weight. The weights are added to the center-line of the hub flange first then any small clip-on weights are added if absolutely needed.This machine corrected an out of round condition on a new set of front tires that had previously been spun balanced on a Coats machine. Before they were re-balanced on the Hunter GSP-9700 they were checked as is first! What an eye popper. The previous balance job was completely unacceptable. They were done using the force wheel and the vibration was gone for good as I put the tires and wheels back on the front of the car.My question to you is: How much out of round tolerance is allowed on any new tire. I have yet to find that very simple question out.
You could try using acetone, the only problem with this is it will also pull out the oil in the tires. So after cleaning the writing off thoroughly wash the acetone off, and then treat the tire. Could take some motor oil on a rag and rub the sides of the tires

My ME88’s are giving my cruiser twice the miles as old tires me with no lost on traction in the twisties.
Really the easiest, cheapest and more convenient ways is to move your car a little. But i suggest your try to use a bigger foam as size of your tire sidewall to cover up your tire in one quick sweep. Also to clean your tire properly first, dry it before putting tire gel to get maximum shine. Hope this helps!

Ideally all four tires should be identical but this isn’t always possible or practical. Barring that, you should at least have matched pairs on each axle. As a tire industry professional I really can’t condone having mismatched tires on the same axle. There are several reasons for this.Tires of different brands/models will wear at different rates.Tires of different brands/models will not have the same ride, handling and traction characteristics which can make them less predictable in an emergency situation than matched tires.Mismatched tires on the rear in bad weather can cause snap oversteer if one tire (due to reasons cited above) suddenly looses traction.Mismatched tires on the front axle can cause the vehicle to drift or pull to one side.Mismatchted tires can make proper care – rotations, alignments – difficult if not impossible to perform….and a bunch more but you get the idea.ASE Certified Service Advisor with 5 years experience in the tire industry
